After some speculation and rumors, Nintendo publicly released the first trailer for the Mario Bros. movie, which will be in charge of the production company Illumination, known for animated hits such as Mi Villano Favorito (Despicable Me) and Los Minions.
The feature film is planned to be released on April 7, 2023 and has fans expectant as it promises to have dozens of references, thousands of colors meaning a new way of seeing the most iconic character in video games and leader of one of the most successful franchises in gaming.
The trailer shows a small preview of the concept of the main characters, Bowser in his role as a powerful villain and leader of the koopas is shown razing a world of ice to a little response from the inhabitants. Mario Bros can be seen arriving in a land full of mushrooms and Toad interacting with the mustachioed hero. «Mushroom Kingdom, here we go,» the characters are heard saying.
So far the original voice actors are already known, which will star Chris Pratt in the role of Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michel Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong and Charlie Day as Luigi.
More than four years ago, on January 31, 2018 Nintendo announced through Twitter the film that will be co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri, however, nothing was known about the progress of the project, this week it was officially announced, which undoubtedly broke the Internet and quickly positioned the topic among the trending topics of Twitter.
