Unlike TikTok that can only monetize live videos, YouTube Shorts will seek to give their creators profits of 45 percent of advertising revenue, another percentage of income would be used for the payment of music licenses, with this influencers will be able to make use of any song. Derived from this, a new tool called Creator Music will also be created.
The monetization option in Youtube Shorts will be available from 2023 according to information from YouTube itself, for this it will be required that creators accumulate at least 10 million public views in the last 90 days and a thousand subscribers.
Like other social networks, Shorts will be presented in vertical format, with this format currently accumulate on the platform more than 30 billion daily views with a total of one thousand 500 million users consuming this type of content.
Shorts was released in beta in some countries in 2020, but it wasn’t until June 2022 when it hit all devices; consists of allowing the user to record videos in vertical format for 15 seconds as standard time, with a maximum of 60 seconds.
