Warner Bros Discovery announced the removal of HBO Max and the emergence of a new service with a new strategy: MAX.
David Zaslav current CEO of HBO Max was in charge of presenting all the news of the new MAX platform that will now have all the content of HBO, Warner Bros and Discovery, focusing on a “simple and easy to use” perspective, Zaslav says that there are currently many streaming platforms, which could generate confusion and saturation of the market based on their estimates.
Based on the above, MAX will be a platform with a varied catalog with productions focused on both children and adults through award-winning series and films that recognize the best of film and television.}
The MAX launch will be on May 23 in the United States.
The evolution of HBO MAX to only MAX was due to the fact that the platform was not wanted to be related only to a single brand, with the promise of having 40 new titles and seasons of television shows every month.
MAX subscription pricing will be as follows:
- Max Ad-Lite ($9.99/month or $99.99/year): Two simultaneous devices, without downloads, in 1080p resolution.
- Max Ad Free ($15.99/month or $149.99/year): The same as Max Ad-Lite but allows up to 30 downloads, in 1080p resolution.
- Max Ultimate Ad Free ($19.99/month or $199.99/year): 4 devices, 4K, 100 offline downloads, and Dolby Atmos sound quality.
