The specialized consultancy Counterpoint published the results of its sales study carried out during the last quarter of 2021, Apple once again surpassed Samsung in terms of sales of the mobile market worldwide, after the launch of the iPhone 13 and the festivities of the last part of the year.
According to data, Apple sold 22% of all cell phones that were marketed on the planet during October, November and December 2021, which reaffirmed the good moment that the Cupertino company is experiencing. the second place was obtained by Samsung, with 18%.
The third place was occupied by Xiaomi with global sales of 12%, the rest of the top five is made up of brands from China, Oppo sold 9% and vivo 8%.
The rest of the manufacturers such as Motorola, Sony, Huawei, LG, Asus, among others, concentrate 31% of the market.
The trend in which Apple surpasses Samsung during the last quarter of the year – which coincides with the period after the launch of the new iPhone – has been going on for 3 years, a fact that was repeated in 2020 and 2021.
In the last two years, after the rebound of Apple, Samsung regains the lead and remains so for most of the year, so it will be a matter of time to see if this continues and the South Korean brand retakes the number one in sales hand in hand with the new S22 range, which will be presented this Wednesday, February 9.
The study conducted by Counterpoint also ensures that both Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo had profits in their sales due to Huawei and LG continuing to plummet.
